ABOUT THE POSITOINS

The Senior Accountant is a key member of the finance team, responsible for working on the accounting operations of the firm. This role involves month-end close activities, lease accounting, fixed assets, expense accruals, management reporting, and revenue recording and accrual. The Senior Accountant will ensure accurate and timely financial statements and reports, while remaining compliant with accounting standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded and reconciled in a timely manner, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
  • Lease accounting, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (such as ASC 842) and accurately reflecting lease obligations and assets on the balance sheet.
  • Fixed assets accounting, including depreciation schedules and asset disposals.
  • Calculation and recording of expense accruals, including but not limited to payroll, taxes, and operational expenses.
  • Develop and present management reports that provide insightful analysis including variance analysis and commentary on financial performance.
  • Recording and accrual of revenue in accordance with accounting standards and company policies, recognizing revenue in the correct accounting periods.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of financial statements and reports, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal controls over financial reporting to ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities, working closely with other departments to align financial goals with business objectives.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors during annual audits, providing all necessary information and assistance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience, investment management or financial services industry preferred.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP as well as financial and accounting principles.
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Diligence and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite and Workiva is preferred.
