ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a Payroll Manager to play a crucial role in leading, managing, and analyzing our organization’s global employee compensation structure, processes, and procedures. This Payroll Manager will ensure that salaries, wages, bonuses, and incentives are processed accurately and in compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and deadlines. The Payroll Manager is part of the Human Resources team and works closely with the Finance team.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of payroll and compensation analysis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer and process global payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate with global payroll providers in France, UK, UAE, Australia, and others.
  • Manage relevant payroll provider and software vendor relationships.
  • Maintain and communicate annual payroll calendar.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including salary changes, exemptions, insurance coverage, deductions, and other necessary records.
  • Lead compensation-related activities, such as salary adjustments, bonus payments, and long-term incentive programs.
  • Prepare financial reports and statements related to compensation, including periodic and year-end reports for internal use and compliance with government regulations.
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts for all compensation related costs.
  • Work closely with the Finance department to reconcile compensation-related accounts and ensure that all financial transactions are accurately reflected in the company’s accounting system.
  • Respond to employee queries regarding payroll issues and provide accurate information and guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with international, federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Work closely with the US payroll provider to ensure accurate state tax filing, reporting, and compliance.
  • Administer 401k program including onboarding new employees, coordinating quarterly committee meetings, annual audits and overall 401k/ERISA compliance.
  • Administer equity programs
  • Keep abreast of current trends and best practices in compensation and payroll accounting.
  • Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations for compensation-related items.
  • Collaborate with auditors, accountants, and other finance professionals to ensure integrity and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of payroll and compensation accounting software and systems.
  • Responsible for ad-hoc Human Resource projects and assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll, compensation accounting, or other related experience.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems, as well as MS Office (Excel expertise).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compensation best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly explain complex financial information.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and commitment to operational excellence.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours as needed.
  • Responsive to urgent needs and issues.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral).
  • SEC Reporting experience preferred.
