ABOUT THE POSITION

The Asset Management Associate (AMA) role is a two-year early career development program and a pathway for accelerated career growth and opportunity in the asset and investment management industry. Designed to attract and develop high-potential professionals who demonstrate passion, curiosity, and the desire to enter the asset management industry, AMA is the platform from which proven candidates from their respective industries can quickly excel and evolve their career direction.

This rotational program combines training, mentoring, coursework, a variety of roles and responsibilities, and interaction with GQG leaders, while working alongside a cohort of collaborative team members. Program members build exceptional operational, business development, and analytical skills with an opportunity to select an operational area or assigned based on business need within a fast growing and industry leading organization. AMA members are viewed as the potential leaders and business drivers of our tomorrow by providing perspectives, insight, delivery, and solutions to support GQG to the next level of growth and success.

ROTATION RESPONSIBILITIES

Example rotations include but are not limited to:

Finance
  • Assist in the quarterly financial reporting responsibilities, including board presentation and MD&A.
  • Contribute to peer benchmarking studies in support of FP&A and external reporting
  • Assist in the development of analytics to support planning and forecasting
  • Support in ad hoc analytics and finance / FP&A projects
  • Assist with the monthly and quarterly ASX filings.
  • Contribute to the creation of materials for shareholder and analyst presentations.
  • Manage analyst reports and consolidate monthly consensus data
  • Create peer review of analysts and strategize expansion of coverage
Investment Infrastructure and Operations
  • Work with Trading and Investment Operations to help support the daily investment process related to transacting in global equity markets
  • Collaborate with our middle office outsourcing partner and support daily processes that are integral to our investment activity
  • Contribute to the Performance and Analytics team to provide client reporting, performance analysis and general reporting support delivering analyses and reporting to our sales, marketing or client services teams and GQG clients
Business Integration and Technology
  • Support the Business Integration team working with various departments and teams across the firm to support projects of various size and scope
  • Participate in Third Party Risk Management and implementation of new processes and risk criteria to facilitate the onboarding, review and off boarding of vendors, fund service providers and brokers
  • Work with technology team to support projects and initiatives supporting the broader GQG business including engineering, cybersecurity and end user support initiatives
  • Contribute to regulatory and corporate reporting projects that support the firm’s public reporting, controls and certification processes

Assist legal team on a wide variety of projects and matters, including:

  • Contract review and implementation
  • Governance, including of subsidiaries and publicly owned parent company
  • Product development and maintenance, including of mutual funds, UCITS, Australian funds, private funds, and collective investment funds
  • Assist compliance team with Code of Ethics program, including the review of personal account statements.
  • Assist with projects such as the review of investment management agreement client prohibitions against order management system coding to ensure completeness.
  • General support of legal and compliance team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree demonstrating strong academic background
  • Minimum 1 years of work experience in an operational or finance experience in a professional setting
  • Demonstrable interest in finance or investment management industry (exposure to general business management, accounting, finance, markets are a strong plus)
  • Demonstrable interest in GQG (eg looked at our website, social media etc)
