FORT LAUDERDALE — September 27, 2019 — The GQG Partners Community Empowerment Foundation and GQG Partners employees have collectively donated over US$60,000 in cash and in-kind support to select non-profit organizations in the Bahamas.
The Foundation identified five high-impact, non-profit organizations that are currently on the ground, assisting with the relief and recovery effort:
ShelterBox USA for housing;
International Medical Corp. for medical/healthcare;
Team Rubicon for infrastructure;
World Central Kitchen for food; and
All Hands and Hearts Smart Response for long-term recovery.
The Foundation further matched GQG employee donations made directly to these organizations at a 2:1 ratio. Since the hurricane made landfall, GQG associates also have given their time and goods to supply drives throughout their South Florida communities.
The mission of the GQG Partners Community Empowerment Foundation is to help our associates impact the global communities to which we belong. “We believe it is our duty, as global citizens and Atlantic neighbors to help the Bahamians who were so devastatingly struck by Hurricane Dorian,” said Rajiv Jain, Chairman & Chief Investment Officer of GQG Partners. “This donation by our staff and our Foundation is our small contribution to the arduous process of recovery as they rebuild their communities.”
