ABOUT THE POSITION

Job Title:                              Manager, Revenue Accounting 

Employment:                     Exempt – FT       

Location:                              New York City (Hybrid, two to three days per week in office and additional days as needed)

Salary Range:                      $140,000 – $160,000 annually plus annual discretionary bonus

The Revenue Accounting Manager is a key member of the Finance team. The ideal candidate will manage revenue related accounting functions including but not limited to recording and approving entries, overseeing revenue, elimination, and consolidation procedures, maintaining roll forward schedules, and performing reconciliations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and cash application.
  • Assist with recording revenue in accordance with accounting standards and company policies, recognizing revenue in the correct accounting periods.
  • Perform and supervise the elimination entries for intercompany transactions.
  • Maintain and reconcile roll forward schedules for key balance sheet accounts.
  • Provide management with AUM/revenue related analysis for internal reporting.
  • Assist in the development of financial statements and reports, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
  • Develop management reports that provide insightful analysis including variance analysis and commentary on financial performance.
  • Work closely with other departments to align financial goals with business objectives.
  • Assist with external auditors during annual audits, providing all necessary information and assistance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • 7-10 years of revenue accounting experience, preferably in the investment or financial services industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of month-end closing processes, accruals, and revenue recognition principles.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles, including GAAP.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Experience with industry-specific financial systems and platforms is preferred.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite and Workiva software is preferred.
